Nissan Maxima Wiper Blade Sizes (1981-2023)

Fresh wiper blades on your Nissan Maxima are just as important as fresh tires when it comes to the safety of your vehicle. Even in fair weather, good wiper blades are important in case you need to wash dust and dirt off of your windshield. That’s why it’s a good idea to try and replace your wiper blades on an annual basis (or sooner).

Installing new wiper blades is an easy do-it-yourself project. The wiper blades on most vehicles simply snap on and off, meaning you can complete the entire process in five minutes or less. Use the chart below to find correct-fitting blades for your Maxima so you don’t have to deal with a return because you bought the wrong size.

About the Nissan Maxima

The Nissan Maxima spent over four decades as Nissan’s flagship sedan, earning its “four-door sports car” nickname through aggressive styling and powerful engines. The nameplate traces back to 1981 when Nissan rebranded the Datsun 810 Maxima for the North American market. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, it competed with the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, and Ford Taurus, though the Maxima always emphasized performance over pure practicality.

The fifth generation (2000-2003) introduced the VQ35DE V6 engine that became a Maxima signature. Buyers loved the combination of power and front-wheel-drive handling.

The sixth generation (2004-2008) grew larger and more aggressive, positioning itself above mainstream sedans. This version battled the Acura TL and Chrysler 300 for attention.

The seventh generation (2009-2014) featured dramatic styling with a pronounced grille and sculpted bodywork. Nissan pushed the sporty image harder than ever.

The eighth generation (2016-2023) represented the final Maxima iteration. It launched with bold design language, a 300-horsepower VQ35DE engine, and premium interior materials. Standard features included push-button start, leather seats, and advanced safety technology. A mid-cycle refresh in 2019 brought updated styling and additional tech features.

Production ended in mid-2023 as Nissan shifted focus toward crossovers and electric vehicles. The final models offered SV, SR, and Platinum trims (earlier years of this generation also included S and SL). Competitors during this final generation included the Toyota Avalon, Dodge Charger, and Kia Stinger; all of which have since been discontinued or face uncertain futures as sedans fall out of favor.
