About the Lexus RX

The Lexus RX debuted in 1998 (1999 model year in the U.S.) as the RX 300, pioneering the luxury crossover SUV segment that barely existed at the time. The third generation arrived in 2009 (2010 model year), featuring the RX 350 and RX 450h variants. Lexus refined the hybrid system significantly, improving both power and fuel economy. During this era, competition intensified with entries like the Audi Q5, Infiniti JX/QX60, and Cadillac SRX vying for premium SUV buyers.

Fourth-generation models launched in 2015 (2016 model year) with more aggressive styling and expanded the range with three-row RX 350L and RX 450hL variants.

The current fifth generation, introduced for the 2023 model year, offers the most comprehensive lineup yet. Standard RX 350 models feature a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The RX 350h provides hybrid efficiency with excellent fuel economy.
