About the Ford Maverick

Ford surprised the truck market by introducing the Maverick in 2021 as a compact, unibody pickup starting just under $20,000. The automotive industry had largely abandoned small trucks years earlier, assuming buyers only wanted larger, more profitable vehicles.

Standard equipment includes a hybrid powertrain combining a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor for a total system output of 191 horsepower and 155 lb-ft of torque. Properly equipped, the EcoBoost model can tow up to 4,000 pounds and carry a payload of up to 1,500 pounds. The hybrid’s towing capacity is 2,000 pounds.
