There’s something different about driving a BMW Z4. It’s lower, louder, and more alive than almost anything else on the road. But the moment those wiper blades start chattering and leaving greasy arcs across your windshield, the whole experience unravels. A fresh set of wipers is the cure.
Our BMW Z4 wiper blade size guide takes the guesswork out of finding the right fit for your specific model year. The chart below has everything you need, along with a recommendation for the wiper brand that Z4 roadster owners trust.

About the BMW Z4
The Z4 arrived for the 2003 model year as a more modern successor to the Z3, riding on a stiffer chassis and replacing the Z3’s semi-trailing rear suspension with a multi-link setup. The first-generation E85 roadster was designed under BMW Designworks leadership and launched with naturally aspirated inline-six engines, with a fixed-roof coupe variant (E86) added for 2006.
High-performance M Roadster and M Coupe versions continued the tradition established under the Z3, powered by BMW’s S54 inline-six. Cross-shoppers at the time compared it to the Porsche Boxster and Mercedes-Benz SLK.
The second-generation E89, announced in late 2008 and shown publicly in early 2009, brought a significant structural change: a retractable hardtop replaced the soft roof, eliminating separate roadster and coupe variants in the process. Manufacturing shifted to BMW’s Regensburg plant in Germany.
Turbocharged engines gradually replaced the earlier naturally aspirated units during this generation, and the E89 remained in production through 2016.
The current third-generation G29 made its public debut in 2018 and went on sale as a 2019 model. It was developed in partnership with Toyota, sharing its platform and key components with the fifth-generation Toyota Supra, and is built by contract manufacturer Magna Steyr in Graz, Austria.
The G29 returned to a fabric soft-top roof that opens and closes in about 10 seconds and was engineered with an emphasis on balanced weight distribution and improved chassis rigidity over its predecessor. Engines include a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the sDrive30i and a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six in the M40i.
For the 2025 model year, BMW introduced a six-speed manual gearbox option for the M40i in the United States and select markets as part of a special equipment package, marking the first manual offering for the G29 generation.
BMW has confirmed that production of the current Z4 generation is scheduled to conclude in 2026, with select market special editions marking the end of the run. No direct successor has been officially announced.
