BMW 3 Series Wiper Blade Sizes (1977-2025)

The BMW 3 Series has earned its reputation as one of the most driver-focused sedans on the road. But even the most satisfying drive gets ruined when worn wipers turn a rainy day into a visibility nightmare. Smears, streaks, and that obnoxious skipping sound are all signs it’s time for a replacement.

Our BMW 3 Series wiper blade size chart covers all model years so you can find the right fit in seconds. We’ll also point you toward the wiper brand that 3 Series owners keep coming back to, year after year.

About the BMW 3 Series

The BMW 3 Series has been in continuous production since May 1975, making it the successor to BMW’s earlier 02 Series. Across seven generations, it has expanded from a simple two-door sedan into a lineup that has included sedans, wagons, coupes, convertibles, hatchbacks, and a Gran Turismo liftback.

More than 18 million examples have been built worldwide, and the 3 Series remains BMW’s best-selling model line.

The early generations (E21 through the beloved E46) established the 3 Series as the benchmark for compact sports sedans. The E36 introduced a six-speed manual transmission (on certain models), a five-speed automatic, and expanded diesel offerings in many markets, while also debuting BMW’s multi-link rear suspension design (called the Z-axle) that significantly improved handling over its predecessor.

The E46, which followed in the late 1990s, expanded the availability of features such as factory navigation, rain-sensing wipers, and Xenon headlights, helping move the segment further upmarket. Competitors during those years included the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Audi A4, which have remained its closest rivals ever since.

The sixth-generation F30, produced from 2012 to 2019, was the last to offer coupe and convertible variants within the 3 Series lineup (those body styles were split off in 2013 and redesigned as the 4 Series). The F30 also introduced the first plug-in hybrid 3 Series, the 330e, for the 2016 model year.

The current seventh generation (G20) debuted in 2018 and is offered in sedan and Touring wagon body styles (depending on market), with the M3 Touring making its long-awaited debut in this generation under the closely related G80 platform. Today’s cross-shoppers also look at the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Audi A4, and Genesis G70.

BMW introduced a Life Cycle Impulse update for the G20 in 2022, followed by a second round of updates in 2024. The later revisions brought updated headlight and taillight graphics, subtle exterior refinements, and further interior changes building on the curved display and BMW Operating System 8 that arrived with the earlier refresh.

In many markets, the M340i xDrive features a 48V mild hybrid system paired with its turbocharged inline-six, producing up to 386 horsepower, while the 330i continues with a turbocharged four-cylinder producing around 255 horsepower (output varies slightly by market).

Looking further ahead, the next generation of the 3 Series is expected to transition to BMW’s Neue Klasse architecture, with production models anticipated later in the decade.
