Whether in coupe or Sportback form, your Audi A5 is a testament to refined engineering. But even the most elegant design can’t overcome the challenge of poor visibility due to worn wiper blades.

Don’t let inferior wipers detract from your A5’s performance or compromise your safety. It’s probably past time to upgrade your blades to ones that actually do the job. Our precise size chart below simplifies the process of finding the perfect fit for your specific A5 model year.

And if you want to know the wiper blade brand that works as good (or better) than the surprisingly decent OEM blades, we’ve got that as well.

About the Audi A5

The Audi A5 made its world debut at the March 2007 Geneva Motor Show, marking Audi’s return to the compact executive coupe segment after an eleven-year absence. The previous Audi 80-based coupe had ended production back in 1996, leaving a noticeable gap in the lineup.

Built on the B8 platform shared with the A4 sedan, the A5 positioned itself against the BMW 3 Series Coupe and Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class. U.S. sales launched for the 2008 model year with a 3.2-liter V6 producing 265 horsepower, while the sportier S5 arrived with a 4.2-liter V8.

Audi expanded the A5 family in 2009 with a fabric-top Cabriolet, and the five-door Sportback followed shortly after in European markets. American buyers had to wait until 2018 to get the Sportback variant. A mid-cycle refresh in 2011 brought LED daytime running lights and improved efficiency.

The second generation arrived for the 2017 model year on the updated B9 platform, delivering sharper styling and the brand’s Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster. A turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder became the standard powerplant, generating 252 horsepower. The BMW 4 Series, Infiniti Q60, Kia Stinger, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe served as primary rivals during this era.

A dramatic shift comes with the third generation launching in 2025. Audi has discontinued the A4 nameplate entirely, with the new A5 absorbing its role as part of a revised naming strategy (odd numbers now designate combustion models while even numbers are reserved for electric vehicles).

The coupe and convertible body styles have been eliminated. Built on the all-new Premium Platform Combustion architecture, the 2025 A5 is offered as a liftback sedan and Avant wagon (though as usual, the wagon will not reach U.S. shores).

Power comes from a 2.0-liter turbo four making 268 horsepower, with the S5 stepping up to a 362-horsepower turbocharged V6. Competitors today include the BMW 3 Series, Genesis G70, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
